Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the annual pop culture convention New York Comic Con (NYCC), will unfortunately not take place this year. Instead of the normal physical event, the virtual New York Comic Con’s Metaverse is scheduled to run between October 8 and October 11, 2020.
NYCC 2020 Pop! vinyl exclusives @ Funko Virtual Con IV
Instead of attending a physical event, but still keeping the convention spirit alive, Funko is bringing NYCC 2020 virtually to your home this fall with Funko Virtual Con 4.0, Funko’s fourth virtual con. Funko Virtual Con IV will take place from October 5 to October 10, 2020.
Just like Emerald City Comic Con, WonderCon and San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year, all Funko and Pop! vinyl offers will take place online. The New York Comic Con 2020 convention exclusives are offered directly online during the virtual con by both Funko and the shared retailers.
In order to combat bots and to improve the buying experience for the Funatics, Funko has changed the process to buy the convention exclusives to a lottery system. Full details how to shop Funko Virtual Con 4.0 on Funko.com can be found on the official Funko website.
The lottery system is only for shopping at Funko.com and does not apply to the shared retailers, which should operate as usual.
New York Comic Con 2020 will be the first event where convention exclusives are offered by shared retailers around the world. In addition to the usual shared retailers in the USA and Canada, New York Comic Con exclusives figures will be offered by shared retailers in various countries in South America and in Europe.
