When you grew up in the eighties, you will undoubtedly be familiar with Masters of the Universe. Masters of the Universe is the name of the media franchise created by Mattel, based upon the line of toys introduced in 1981.
The franchise has since grown into multiple animated series, comic books, feature films and other products, all of which relate to the adventures of He-Man and his allies who resist the forces of evil.
The backstory of Masters of the Universe follows the adventures of He-Man, whose real identity is Prince Adam of Eternia, son of King Randor and Queen Marlena, who ruled the Kingdom of Eternia on the planet of the same name.
He-Man and his allies, including She-Ra and Man-At-Arms, fight to defend the supernatural secrets of Castle Grayskull from the evil forces of Skeletor. The Sorceress of Castle Grayskull endowed Prince Adam with the power to transform into He-Man, which Adam did by raising his Power Sword and proclaiming, “By the power of Grayskull”.
Funko takes us back to the eighties and has transformed the characters of Masters of the Universe into Funko Pop! vinyl figures. The original Funko Pop! Masters of the Universe set is part of the Pop! Television series and the first Funko Pop! MOTU figures were released in 2013.
In addition to releases in the Pop! Television series, Funko has released Pop! MOTU figures in several other Pop! vinyl series, including the Pop! Art Series, Pop! Retro Toys, Pop! Rides and Pop! Town series.
