Funko has announced a new wave of Funko Pop! vinyl figures from the Japanese anime fantasy adventure film Dragon Ball Super: Broly.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly is a 2018 Japanese animated martial arts fantasy adventure film directed by Tatsuya Nagamine.
It is the twentieth animated feature film in the Dragon Ball franchise, the first to carry the Dragon Ball Super branding, and is the third film in the franchise to be personally supervised by series creator Akira Toriyama.
The film reimagines the legendary character Broly, officially integrating him into the Dragon Ball canon.
The story explores the origins of key characters and the Saiyan race, adding emotional depth and historical context to the franchise.
The plot begins with a flashback to the Saiyans’ tragic past, revealing the harsh rule of Frieza and King Cold, the ambitions of King Vegeta, and the exile of Broly, a Saiyan with immense potential, to a remote planet. Raised under the harsh guidance of his vengeful father, Paragus, Broly grows into a powerful yet emotionally scarred warrior.
In the present, Goku and Vegeta are training on Earth when Frieza’s forces locate Broly and bring him to fight them. What ensues is a series of intense, visually stunning battles that push Goku and Vegeta to their limits.
To counter Broly’s overwhelming strength, the duo performs the Fusion Dance to become Gogeta, a powerful merged warrior. The final showdown between Gogeta and Broly is a spectacular clash of power and strategy.
Ultimately, Broly’s humanity shines through, and with the help of new allies, he escapes Frieza’s control to find a new path. The film concludes with Goku befriending Broly, hinting at future encounters.
Grossing over $120 million worldwide, the film reaffirmed the global appeal of the Dragon Ball franchise. More importantly, it paved the way for future Dragon Ball projects, solidifying Broly’s place in the saga.
A sequel, titled Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, was released in June 2022.
