Funko has announced a new wave of Funko Pop! vinyl figures to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Disney’s Bambi.
Celebrate 80 years of Disney’s Bambi (1942 – 2022)
Bambi is a 1942 American animated drama film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by RKO Radio Pictures.
Personally produced by Walt Disney and directed by David Hand, Disney’s Bambi is based on the 1923 novel Bambi, a Life in the Woods by Austrian author and hunter Felix Salten.
The film follows the life in the woods of Bambi, a white-tailed deer; his parents (the Great Prince of the Forest and his unnamed mother); his friends Thumper (a pink-nosed rabbit); and Flower (a skunk); and his childhood friend and future partner, Faline.
Released in theaters in 1942, during World War II, Bambi was Disney’s fifth feature-length animated film. The film received three Academy Award nominations.
Characters from Disney’s Bambi have been transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl figures and are part of the Pop! Disney series. Although the official 80th anniversary of Disney’s Bambi already took place in 2022, the newly announced wave celebrates 80 years of Disney’s Bambi and includes three new Funko Pop! vinyl figures of main characters Bambi, Flower and Thumper.
