Marvel Comics is an American comic book publisher and the property of The Walt Disney Company since December 31, 2009, and a subsidiary of Disney Publishing Worldwide since March 2023.
Marvel was founded in 1939 by Martin Goodman as Timely Comics, and by 1951 had become widely known as Atlas Comics. The Marvel Era began in August 1961 with the launch of The Fantastic Four and other superhero titles created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and many others.

Characters from the Marvel franchise have been transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl figures and are part of the Funko Pop! Marvel series. Funko has announced a new wave of Marvel Funko Pop! vinyl figures to celebrate the 85th anniversary of Marvel Comics (1939 – 2024).
The new wave, called Marvel’s We Are Groot, includes Funko Pop! vinyl figures of Marvel’s character Groot, depicted as other Marvel Comics characters such as Captain America, Iron Man, Loki, Dr. Strange and Wolverine.
The wave includes eight new Marvel’s We Are Groot Funko Pop! vinyl figures, including a Groot as Black Panther Funko Pop! vinyl figure as a Target Exclusive and a Groot as Dr. Strange Funko Pop! vinyl figure as a Funko Shop Exclusive.
