Funko has announced a new wave of Funko Pop! vinyl figures from the upcoming anime fantasy film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.

The iconic world of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings is about to expand in an exciting direction with The War of the Rohirrim, an upcoming feature-length anime fantasy film.
Directed by Kenji Kamiyama, known for his work on Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, the film promises a bold new perspective on Middle-earth that combines the rich narrative depth of Tolkien’s world with the dynamic style of Japanese anime.
Set nearly two centuries before the events of The Lord of the Rings, The War of the Rohirrim explores the heroic tale of Helm Hammerhand, a legendary King of Rohan whose courage and resilience define his kingdom’s legacy.
During a brutal war against the Dunlendings, Helm defends his people from within the fortress of Helm’s Deep, the site of one of Tolkien’s most memorable battle scenes. Through Helm’s story, fans will witness the origins of this iconic stronghold and experience the struggles and sacrifices that forged it as a symbol of resistance.
The project is spearheaded by New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Animation, with Philippa Boyens, co-writer of Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, serving as a consultant. This involvement from original creators lends authenticity to the film while allowing Kamiyama’s anime style to inject fresh visual excitement.
