Funko has announced two new Funko Pop! vinyl figures from the science fiction horror film Alien 3.

Alien 3 is a 1992 American science fiction horror film directed by David Fincher, serving as the third installment in the Alien franchise.
The story begins immediately after the events of Aliens (1986). Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), the sole survivor of the Nostromo and the protagonist of the series, crash-lands on Fiorina 161, a bleak and isolated penal colony inhabited by male convicts.
The colony, formerly a refinery, has minimal technology and houses a group of prisoners who follow a strict religious lifestyle. Ripley’s arrival disrupts the fragile equilibrium, especially when it is discovered that an alien stowaway has come with her, posing a deadly threat to the colony.
As the alien begins killing the prisoners one by one, Ripley takes on the leadership role to fight the creature.
The film takes a darker, more somber tone than its predecessors, focusing on themes of isolation, redemption, and sacrifice. Ripley discovers that she is hosting a Queen embryo, making her a target for the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, which seeks to use the alien for their bioweapons program.
In a climactic act of defiance and self-sacrifice, Ripley destroys herself to prevent the corporation from exploiting the alien.
Alien 3 is notable for its troubled production, including script rewrites, creative differences and studio interference. Despite mixed reviews upon release, it has since gained some appreciation for Fincher’s bold story choices and atmospheric direction, even though the director has distanced himself from the project.
Characters from the Alien franchise have been transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl figures and are part of the Funko Pop! Movies series.
