House of the Dragon is an epic American fantasy television series set in the expansive and politically complex world of Westeros, serving as a prequel to the critically acclaimed Game of Thrones.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, the show is produced by HBO and focuses on the history of the Targaryen dynasty, approximately 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

The second season of House of the Dragon premiered on June 16, 2024 and contained eight episodes. In June 2024, ahead of the second season’s premiere, the series was renewed for a third season.
