Funko has quietly re-released the full DC x Sonic the Hedgehog Funko Pop! wave, originally launched in 2025 as a Target-exclusive collection.
What’s New in Pop! Heroes: DC x Sonic the Hedgehog
While the figures were first positioned as retailer exclusives, the entire wave has now returned to market as standard common releases, making them widely available through regular Funko resellers.
What makes this re-release notable is that the packaging remains unchanged in key areas. The boxes still carry the same QR codes that were used on the original Target Exclusive versions from 2025. Visually, the figures themselves also remain identical. The only real difference is distribution and exclusivity status.
This move strongly suggests a strategic decision by Funko to boost sales and extend the lifecycle of a popular crossover by removing retailer exclusivity.
The DC x Sonic the Hedgehog crossover remains part of the Funko Pop! Heroes line and continues to feature six figures that blend Sega’s Sonic universe with DC Comics superheroes.
Originally exclusive to Target, the wave is now classified as common, meaning collectors no longer need to rely on the secondary market or U.S.-only retailers to complete the set. Availability through standard Funko retailers worldwide significantly lowers the barrier for collectors who missed the initial release.
Despite the change in status, Funko has not updated the box art or QR codes, which may cause confusion among collectors attempting to differentiate between the 2025 Target Exclusive run and the newer common release. Functionally, however, they are the same products.

The DC x Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration was first announced on September 24, 2024, during the Sonic Central presentation. The crossover introduced a shared universe concept between Sega and DC Comics, anchored by a five-issue comic series written by Ian Flynn, which launched in March 2025 and continues into 2026.
Beyond comics, merchandise played a major role in the collaboration, with Funko Pop! figures becoming one of the most visible and accessible products tied to the crossover. New DC x Sonic the Hedgehog Funko Pop! Figures
The DC x Sonic the Hedgehog wave is officially part of the Funko Pop! Heroes series, making it a unique addition to Funko’s long-running line that celebrates iconic superheroes.
The wave consists of six Funko Pop! figures:
- Shadow as Batman – Shadow channels the dark and brooding style of Batman. With his serious demeanor and sharp look, Shadow is a perfect fit for the Caped Crusader.
- Silver as the Green Lantern – Silver takes on the iconic Green Lantern suit, complete with the ring’s power. The futuristic nature of Silver blends perfectly with the cosmic force of the Lantern Corps.
- Sonic as the Flash – This crossover was inevitable. Sonic, known for his blazing speed, dons the Flash costume. The parallels between these two heroes make this one of the most fitting designs in the collection.
- Tails as Cyborg – Tails, the brilliant inventor and mechanic, transforms into Cyborg. Both characters share technological genius, making this match-up a clever nod to their inventive abilities.
- Amy as Wonder Woman – Amy Rose takes up the role of Wonder Woman, combining her determination and charm with the Amazon warrior’s strength and courage.
- Knuckles as Superman – Knuckles wears the suit of Superman, showcasing his raw strength and loyalty. It’s a natural fit for the echidna who always stands up for what’s right.
All six figures remain unchanged from their original Target-exclusive release and still carry the Pop! Heroes branding.

With the removal of exclusivity, the DC x Sonic the Hedgehog wave is now available through standard Funko retailers. This significantly impacts collectors who previously viewed the Target versions as limited or exclusive items.
The unchanged QR codes and packaging mean there is no clear physical distinction between the original 2025 release and the newer common distribution. From a collector standpoint, this reinforces that the figures should now be treated as standard releases rather than true exclusives.
