Bakugan Battle Brawlers is a 2007 Japanese-Canadian anime television series and a strategy game based on the series.
The original series consisted of 52 episodes. In 2009, a second series was released titled Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia. The third series, Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders, was released in 2010, followed by the Mechtanium Surge series in 2011, which was split into 2 seasons.
Both the series and the game revolve around creatures called Bakugan. These creatures live in capsules and can be controlled via metal cards. People who possess these cards and one or more bakugan are called Battle Brawlers. They use their bakugan to fight among themselves. In the series, the Bakugan are originally from a world called Vestroia and ended up on Earth at the hands of the Bakugan Naga.
Characters from the Bakugan Battle Brawlers TV series have been transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl figures and are part of the Pop! Animation series. Six different Pop! vinyl figures of the main characters will be released, including a 2-pack variant exclusive to Target. The release date is set for July 2021.
