Black Adam is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name.
In the film, Dwayne Johnson plays the role of Teth-Adam / Black Adam, one of the archenemies of the superhero Shazam and the nemesis of the Shazam Family.
Black Adam will serve as a spin-off from Shazam! (2019) and it will be the eleventh film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
The DCEU is an American media franchise and shared universe centered on a series of superhero films and television series produced by DC Films and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is based on characters that appear in American comic books published by DC Comics. The DCEU also includes comic books, short films, novels and video games.
Black Adam is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 21, 2022.
Characters from Black Adam have been transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl figures and are part of the Pop! Movies series. The upcoming wave of Pop! Black Adam figures has a July 2022 release date and will feature a wide variety of figures, including a Glow in the Dark chase variant.
In addition to the Pop! Movies figures, Funko is also releasing a Pop! Rides figure based on the movie and a Black Adam Pop! Comic Cover figure based on the DC Comics issue Justice League of America (Vol.3) #7.4: Black Adam (2013).
