Carrie is an American horror media franchise, based on the 1974 novel of the same name by author Stephen King. The series consists of four films, a Broadway musical and a television special.
In the novel, which was Stephen King’s first published work, a somewhat overweight, shy and usually bullied girl named Carietta (Carrie) Nadine White is raised by her mother Margaret, an unstable religious fanatic who thinks almost everything can be sinful. Carrie finds out she has telekinetic powers, with dire consequences.
The first film in the Carrie franchise was released in 1976 and is directed by Brian De Palma. Carrie was a huge commercial success and the film has significantly influenced popular culture, with several publications regarding it as one of the greatest horror films ever made.
Carrie, the main character of the franchise, has been transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl figures that are part of the Pop! Movies series. The newly announced Funko Pop! vinyl Carrie (Black Light) figure is an Entertainment Earth exclusive and has a release date of August 2023.
