Disney Princess, also called the Princess Line, is a media franchise and toy line owned by the Walt Disney Company.
Created by Disney Consumer Products chairman Andy Mooney, the franchise features a lineup of female protagonists who have appeared in various Disney franchises.
The Disney Princess franchise does not include all princess characters from the whole of Disney-owned media, but rather refers to select specific characters from the company’s animated films, including only protagonists from Walt Disney Pictures animated films, with twelve characters from the Walt Disney Animation Studios films and one character from a Pixar film.
The thirteen characters in the franchise consist of Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida, Moana and Raya.
Characters from the Disney Princess franchise have been transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl figures and are part of the Funko Pop! Disney series. Funko has announced three new Funko Pop! vinyl figures of Mulan, Merida and Anna (Frozen).
Despite not officially being a Disney Princess, Funko has a habit of releasing new Anna (Frozen) Funko Pop! vinyl figures in the Pop! Disney Princess collection, albeit with a Disney Frozen Funko Pop! box.
In addition to the three new Disney Princess Funko Pop! vinyl figures, Funko has announced the first Disney Princess Funko Pop! Town figure. The new Aurora with Castle Funko Pop! Town figure is the latest release of the Pop! Town series.
