Mickey and Friends, also known as the Mickey Mouse universe, is a fictional shared universe which is the setting for stories involving Disney cartoon characters Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy and many others.
The Mickey Mouse universe was created from the Mickey Mouse animated shorts produced by Disney starting in 1928. The universe essentially originated with the debut of Mickey himself in Plane Crazy (1928) and Steamboat Willie (1928).
The term “Mickey Mouse universe” is not officially used by The Walt Disney Company, but it has been used by Disney comics author and animation historian David Gerstein. The Walt Disney Company typically uses terms such as Mickey and Friends or Mickey and the Gang to refer to the character franchise.
Characters from the Disney Mickey and Friends franchise have been transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl figures and are part of the Pop! Disney series. The newly announced Disney Mickey and Friends (Black and White) Funko Pop! 4 Pack is a Sam’s Club Exclusive and will be available soon.
