Funko has announced a new wave of Funko Pop! vinyl figures to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants.

SpongeBob SquarePants is an American animated television series created by animator Stephen Hillenburg that officially premiered on July 17, 1999 on Nickelodeon.
The series centers on the title character and a cast of his aquatic friends in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom. SpongeBob SquarePants is an energetic and optimistic yellow sea sponge who lives in a submerged pineapple.
SpongeBob SquarePants ran for a total of fourteen seasons with 299 episodes and was renewed for a fifteenth season in September 2023. The series has inspired three feature films: The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004), Sponge Out of Water (2015) and Sponge on the Run (2020).
Two spin-off series, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years and The Patrick Star Show, premiered in 2021. Four additional films are planned: three character spin-off films for Paramount+ and Netflix, and a theatrical SpongeBob film.
SpongeBob SquarePants has won a variety of awards including six Annie Awards, eight Golden Reel Awards, four Emmy Awards and two BAFTA Children’s Awards.
Characters from the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise have been transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl figures and are part of the Funko Pop! Animation series, with Funko Pop! vinyl figures from the film The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run (2020) released in the Funko Pop! Movies series.
The newly announced wave is part of the Pop! Animation series, celebrates the 25th Anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants and includes eight new Funko Pop! vinyl figures.
