Universal Monsters (also known as Universal Studios Monsters and Universal Classic Monsters) is a media franchise based on a series of horror movies primarily produced by Universal Pictures from the 1930s to the 1950s.
While the early films such as Dracula (1931) were created as a stand-alone films based on known novels, their success led to Frankenstein (1931). The film was made with plans to have its characters potentially reappearing in sequels.
Universal would create more horror movie characters over the next twenty years, such as the Wolf Man, the Mummy, the Bride of Frankenstein, the Invisible Man, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
Characters from the Universal Monsters franchise have been transformed into Funko Pop! figures and are part of the Funko Pop! Movies series. Following the previously announced wave of Universal Monsters Funko Pop! vinyl figures last month, Funko has now announced an exclusive Funko Pop! vinyl figure of the Wolf Man.
