The Incredibles is a 2004 American animated superhero film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.
Written and directed by Brad Bird, the film centers on the Parr family, a group of superheroes forced to live a normal life under a government superhero relocation program. The family includes Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible), his wife Helen (Elastigirl) and their three children: Violet, Dash, and baby Jack-Jack. Each family member has unique superpowers.
The story follows Bob Parr as he struggles with his everyday life after superheroes are banned. He secretly resumes his superhero activities, which brings him into a confrontation with Syndrome, a former fan turned villain who plans to eliminate all superheroes.
The entire family eventually comes together to stop Syndrome and his dangerous plans, embracing their true identities as superheroes.
The Incredibles debuted at the El Capitan Theatre on October 24, 2004, and was released in theaters in the United States on November 5. The Incredibles was highly praised for its animation, storytelling, and character development, becoming a critical and commercial success. A sequel, Incredibles 2, was released in June 2018.
