Funko has announced a new wave of Funko Pop! vinyl figures from the sports comedy drama film Varsity Blues.
Varsity Blues characters transformed into Funko Pop! figures.
Varsity Blues is a 1999 American sports comedy drama film directed by Brian Robbins.
Set in the fictional small town of West Canaan, Texas, it follows a high school football team and their struggles under the intense pressure of their authoritarian coach, Bud Kilmer (played by Jon Voight).
The story focuses on Jonathan “Mox” Moxon (James Van Der Beek), the team’s backup quarterback, who is thrust into the spotlight after the star quarterback, Lance Harbor (Paul Walker), is injured.
Mox, a reluctant athlete more interested in academics, must navigate the expectations of his football-obsessed town and his controlling coach, who pushes the team to dangerous extremes for victory.
The film explores themes of teenage rebellion, small-town life and the dark side of high school athletics. As Mox leads the team, he ultimately stands up to Coach Kilmer, inspiring his teammates to do the same, culminating in a decisive game without Kilmer’s toxic influence.
Characters from Varsity Blues have been transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl figures and are part of the Funko Pop! Movies series.
The newly announced wave includes four new Varsity Blues Funko Pop! vinyl figures, including Billy Bob & Bacon, Coach Kilmer, Mox and Charlie Tweeder.
