Funko Pop! New Releases

New Shaboozey (Tipsy) Funko Pop! Rocks figure.

Funko has announced a new Shaboozey (Tipsy) Funko Pop! vinyl figure as part of the Funko Pop! Rocks series.

Shaboozey: Country’s Genre-Bending Outlaw

Shaboozey is an artist who refuses to be boxed in. Born Collins Obinna Chibueze, he’s a first-generation Nigerian-American raised in Northern Virginia, blending country music, hip-hop, and rock into something gritty, cinematic, and completely his own.

With a name that’s as wild as his sound, Shaboozey is part of a new generation of artists flipping traditional genres on their heads—and making it sound effortless.

He first emerged in the late 2010s, catching attention with his 2018 debut album Lady Wrangler. That record felt like a mixtape from a cowboy on a bender—half trap beats, half Western saloon soundtrack.

It didn’t fit into any mainstream mold, but that’s exactly what made people take notice. Tracks like “Jeff Gordon” and “Robert Plant” showed his knack for storytelling, while flexing influences ranging from Kid Cudi and Johnny Cash to Quentin Tarantino soundtracks.

After a few quiet years of recalibration, Shaboozey came back with more focus and fire. His 2022 album Cowboys Live Forever, Outlaws Never Die was a sharp step forward. It leaned heavier into country sounds—acoustic guitars, bluesy riffs—but kept the streetwise flow and modern edge that defined his early work.

He wasn’t chasing trends; he was building a world. That album earned him a cult following and quietly put him on the radar of both Nashville and hip-hop circles.

In 2024, he broke into the mainstream with Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going. The project is his most cohesive and confident yet, featuring the viral hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which flips J-Kwon’s 2004 party anthem into a rowdy honky-tonk banger.

The track exploded on TikTok and cracked the Billboard charts, proving Shaboozey could dominate more than just niche playlists.

Around the same time, Beyoncé tapped him for two tracks on her Cowboy Carter album—“SPAGHETTII” and “SWEET ★ HONEY ★ BUCKIIN’”—solidifying his place in the new wave of Black artists reshaping country music’s future.

With high-profile cosigns and growing momentum, Shaboozey is now a serious force in both country and rap circles. He’s not here to fit in—he’s here to build his own lane. Cowboy hats, gold grills, dusty bars, and trap drums all live in Shaboozey’s world. And the world is finally catching up.
