By the power of Grayskull, Prince Adam a.k.a. He-Man is back with the heroes and villains from the Masters of the Universe.
Masters of the Universe transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl.
When you grew up in the eighties, you will undoubtedly be familiar with Masters of the Universe. Masters of the Universe is the name of the media franchise created by Mattel, based upon the line of toys introduced in 1981.
The franchise has since grown into multiple animated series, comic books, feature films and other products, all of which relate to the adventures of He-Man and his allies who resist the forces of evil.
The backstory of Masters of the Universe follows the adventures of He-Man, whose real identity is Prince Adam of Eternia, son of King Randor and Queen Marlena, who ruled the Kingdom of Eternia on the planet of the same name.
He-Man and his allies, including She-Ra and Man-At-Arms, fight to defend the supernatural secrets of Castle Grayskull from the evil forces of Skeletor. The Sorceress of Castle Grayskull endowed Prince Adam with the power to transform into He-Man, which Adam did by raising his Power Sword and proclaiming, “By the power of Grayskull”.
Funko takes us back to the eighties and transformed the characters of Master of the Universe (MOTU) into Pop! vinyl figures. The Funko Pop! Masters of the Universe set is part of the Pop! Television series and the first series of MOTU Pop! vinyl figures was released in 2013. The first series includes vinyl figures of He-Man, She-Ra and three variants of Skeletor.
In 2018 and 2019, the Pop! Masters of the Universe set was expanded with a large number of new Pop! vinyl figures. MOTU heroes and villains, including Beast Man, Evil-Lyn, Orko and Stratos, were added to the set and Pop! vinyl figures of Trap Jaw and Man-At-Arms were released exclusively in the Funko Specialty Series program.
New Masters of the Universe Pop! vinyl figures will be released in the coming months, including figures from new characters such as Tung Lashor, Mosquitor and Webstor. The new MOTU series also includes Pop! vinyl figures of Prince Adam, He-Man and Skeletor and He-Man on Battle Cat, which will be released in the Pop! Rides series.
