Attack on Titan is a Japanese dark fantasy anime television series adapted from the manga of the same, written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama.
The anime television series, produced by Wit Studio (seasons 1-3) and MAPPA (season 4), premiered in Japan on April 7, 2013. The first three seasons of Attack on Titan aired between April 2013 and July 2019.
A fourth and final season premiered in December 2020, airing 16 episodes in its first part. A second part consisting of 12 episodes aired from January to April 2022, and a third and final part will premiere in 2023.
In the United States and Canada, the series has streamed on Crunchyroll, Funimation, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu.
Attack on Titan is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is forced to live in cities surrounded by three enormous walls that protect them from gigantic man-eating humanoids referred to as Titans.
The story follows a passionate young boy, Eren Yeager, and his friends, the female powerhouse Mikasa Ackerman and brainy nervous wreck Armin Arlert. Eren vows to wipe out the Titans after they cause the destruction of his hometown and the death of his mother.
