Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack album for the Marvel Studios film Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
The soundtrack album features songs found on the mixtape of main character Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord), which he takes with him everywhere on his adventures in space. The mixtape mainly contains songs from the 60s and 70s.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 was released on July 29, 2014 by Hollywood Records and reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, becoming the first soundtrack album in history composed entirely of previously released songs to top the chart.
Star-Lord and his Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 album/mixtape have received a Funko Pop! makeover and are the latest addition to the Funko Pop! Albums series. The Pop! Albums series is a combination of a Funko Pop! vinyl figure, pre-packaged in a hard premium protector case.
The back of the case is decorated with artwork of the album cover and the front of the case contains a Funko Pop! vinyl figure representing the likeness of the album cover. The dimensions of the case are approximately 8 3/4 inches high and wide and the case is approximately 3 1/2 inches deep. The Funko Pop! Albums can easily be hung on the wall.
