Funko has announced a new Funko Pop! vinyl figure from R&B legend Usher as part of the Funko Pop! Rocks series.

R&B legend Usher transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl.

Usher Raymond IV (born October 14, 1978) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, dancer, actor and producer.

Born in Dallas, Texas, but soon moved to Atlanta, Georgia, Usher’s music career began at a young age and at the age of ten he joined a local R&B singing group. In 1992 his talent was discovered by L.A. Reid, the co-founder of LaFace Records in Atlanta, who immediately offered him a contract after a short audition.

Usher was introduced to the public on “Call Me a Mack”, a song he recorded for the soundtrack album of the 1993 romantic drama film Poetic Justice, starring Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur.

After some voice problems, Usher went through puberty and struggled to adjust his voice, and with help from producer Sean Combs, LaFace Records released Usher’s self-titled debut album in 1994. The album peaked at number twenty-five on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and has sold over 500,000 copies to date.

Usher rose to fame in the late 1990s with the release of his second album My Way (1997). It spawned his first U.S. Billboard Hot 100 number one single “Nice & Slow”, and the top-two singles “You Make Me Wanna…” and “My Way”.

To date, Usher has released six more solo studio albums, including Confessions (2004), which has been certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and has sold 20 million copies worldwide; making it the best-selling R&B album of the 21st century by a male artist.

Usher has received numerous awards throughout his career for his Diamond and multi-platinum albums, from Grammy Awards and Billboard Music Awards to Soul Train Music Awards and American Music Awards.

In 2007, Usher was inducted into the 29th Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame and in 2016 into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Funko honors the R&B legend with a Funko Pop! makeover and with the release of a new Usher Funko Pop! vinyl figure as part of the Funko Pop! Rocks series. The new Usher Funko Pop! vinyl figure is inspired by the music video of his 2004 number one single “Yeah!” featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris.

The new Funko Pop! vinyl Usher figure, pictured with his blue Atlanta Braves cap and signature platinum chain, has an August 2023 release date.
