Funko has announced a new wave of NBA All-Stars Funko Pop! vinyl figures as part of the Funko Pop! NBA Basketball series.
NBA All-Star players transformed into Funko Pop! figures
The NBA All-Star Game is a basketball exhibition game hosted every February by the NBA and showcases 24 of the league’s star players. It is the featured event of the NBA All-Star Weekend, a three-day event that runs from Friday to Sunday. The All-Star Weekend also includes some popular exhibition games and competitions featuring NBA players.
The first NBA All-Star Game was hosted at the Boston Garden on March 2, 1951, where the Eastern All-Stars team defeated the Western All-Stars team. The 2023 NBA All-Star Game, the 72nd edition of the event, was hosted by the Utah Jazz at Vivint Arena (later Delta Center) and played on February 19, 2023. Team Giannis defeated Team LeBron 184 – 175.
The 2024 NBA All-Star Game will be played on February 18, 2024 and will be hosted by the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The 73rd edition of the NBA All-Star Game will feature the return of the Eastern Conference versus Western Conference format that was last used in 2017.
Over the years, many NBA players have appeared in an NBA All-Star Game and Funko has given some of these legendary NBA All-Star players a Funko Pop! makeover. The new NBA All-Star Funko Pop! vinyl figures are depicted in their All-Star uniforms.
Last year Funko released the first wave of NBA All-Stars Funko Pop! vinyl figures as part of the Pop! NBA Basketball series. The wave included seven new NBA All-Stars Funko Pop! vinyl figures, including former NBA star players Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Karl Malone and John Stockton.
The newly announced wave includes five new legendary NBA All-Star players transformed into Funko Pop! figures, including Vince Carter, Wilt Chamberlain and Allen Iverson.
