Funko has announced a new wave of Solo Leveling Funko Pop! vinyl figures as part of the Funko Pop! Animation series.
Solo Leveling characters transformed into Funko Pop! figures
Solo Leveling is a South Korean web novel-turned-anime that quickly gained global attention for its action-packed storytelling and intense visuals.
Originally written by Chugong, the web novel was later adapted into a manhwa (Korean comic) illustrated by Jang Sung-rak (DUBU). The anime adaptation, produced by A-1 Pictures (Sword Art Online, 86), officially premiered on January 6, 2024.
The story follows Sung Jin-Woo, the weakest of all E-rank hunters in a world where gates to dungeons regularly open and unleash monsters. After a near-death experience during a dungeon raid gone wrong, Jin-Woo gains access to a mysterious system that allows him to level up in real-time—something no other hunter can do.
As he trains and battles his way up the ranks, he transforms from the weakest hunter into the most powerful player in the world, unraveling deep secrets behind the dungeons and his new powers.
Season 1 aired from January 6 to March 30, 2024, and consists of 12 episodes. It covers the foundational arcs: Jin-Woo’s early growth, the dungeon incident that changes everything, and the initial awakening of his new powers. The anime follows the manhwa closely but refines pacing and design to suit a broader global audience.
Season 2, titled Solo Leveling: Arise from the Shadow, premiered on January 5, 2025, and concluded on March 30, 2025, with 13 episodes. It picks up immediately after Season 1, diving into more advanced arcs including the Red Gate, Demon Castle, and Retesting arcs. Jin-Woo’s transformation accelerates as he commands a growing army of shadows and climbs the hunter ranks with terrifying speed.
The season further expands the worldbuilding and hints at the looming threat from beyond the gates.
The anime is available internationally on platforms like Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video, with Japanese audio and multiple dubbed/subtitled options. A special compilation film, Solo Leveling: ReAwakening, featuring a recap of Season 1 and early Season 2 content, was released in late 2024.
Critics and fans alike have praised Solo Leveling for its animation quality, dark tone, and protagonist-driven momentum. While supporting characters remain thinly sketched, the laser focus on Jin-Woo’s solo rise appeals to fans of self-made heroes and power-scaling narratives.
As of now, no third season has been confirmed, but given the ongoing popularity and available source material, future seasons are likely on the horizon.
