Unfortunately, it’s a recurring story at past conventions: all conventions have been canceled due to the pandemic.
FunKon 2021 Pop! exclusives @ Funko Virtual Con 7.0
The annual summer convention San Diego Comic-Con has been canceled again, as has the annual release of the Funko SDCC Pop! convention exclusives that every Funko Pop collector looks forward to.
But as we have come to expect from Funko lately, there is always a virtual convention as a solution. Funko’s next virtual convention is called FunKon 2021 and is Funko’s seventh virtual convention.
Rather than being an entirely virtual event, FunKon 2021 will combine virtual Pop! releases with in-person festivities at Funko Hollywood, the company’s Los Angeles, California-based store. FunKon Summer Convention 2021 will take place from August 4-6, 2021.
The exclusive Pop! vinyl convention figures released during FunKon 2021 are therefore officially rebranded as FunKon Summer Convention 2021 exclusives.
As with all previous virtual conventions, convention Pop! exclusives will be offered online by both Funko and the shared retailers. Pop! figures purchased from Funko’s online store will have either the FunKon 2021 sticker or the Summer Convention 2021 sticker. Shared retailers are only allowed to have the Summer Convention 2021 sticker.
