The first Pop! vinyl figures from the Pop! NFL Football line were released in 2014. The line kicks off with Pop! vinyl figures of Super Bowl XLVIII champions Seattle Seahawks, Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman and Marshawn Lynch.
Since its launch in 2014, a new wave has been released every year featuring new Pop! vinyl figures from current and retired NFL players. The Pop! vinyl figures from wave 1 and 2 are easy to recognize by the removable helmets inside the box.
From wave 3, the Pop! NFL Football line grows fast and is expanded with a large number of new NFL players, this time vinyl figures without helmets. Different Pop! vinyl figures of players are released dressed in different outfits, including throwback and color rush jerseys.
In addition to a large number of different NFL players, both current and retired, a number of NFL coaches have also been transformed into Pop! vinyl style. Pop! vinyl figures of Tom Landry and Mike Ditka have been released and a vinyl figure of the legendary Vince Lombardi will follow soon.
The Pop! NFL Football line is the largest line in the Funko Pop! Sports series and 199 different Pop! vinyl NFL Football figures have been released to date. This includes the various multipack choices and the latest wave of NFL Football figures, including Reggie White, Howie Long and Jim Kelly.
