Unlike the music-based Pop! Rocks series, where the music artist takes all the credit, the Pop! Albums series now focuses on popular music albums.
The Funko Pop! Albums series is a combination of a hard protector case, a Funko Pop! vinyl figure and of course artwork of the music album cover. And the end product is just amazing!
The back of the box is decorated with an image of the music album cover and the front of the box features a Funko Pop! vinyl figure representing the likeness of the album cover. The dimensions of the box are approximately 8 3/4 inches high and wide and the box is approximately 3 1/2 inches deep. The Funko Pop! Albums can easily be hung on the wall.
The first release in the Funko Pop! Albums series has been credited to Hip Hop legend The Notorious B.I.G.. His debut album Ready To Die has been transformed into Funko Pop! vinyl style, with the recognizable baby Biggie Smalls on the album cover.
The second album in the Pop! Albums series is by the English heavy metal band Black Sabbath, with their eponymous debut album Black Sabbath, released in 1970.
Funko has now released or announced a total of seven albums in the Pop! Albums series, including albums from AC/DC, Linkin Park and Queen.
It’s not clear what line or criteria Funko is following for the Pop! Album series, but like the popular Pop! Rocks series, this music-based Pop! series is bound to grow rapidly in the near future.
